Mt Ashland Summit Trail Out and Back

  – Distance: ~2.1 miles
  – Min/max elev.: 6570’/7488′
  – Elev. gain/loss: 913’/-2′

Start at the U.S. Forest Service kiosk next to the Mt. Ashland parking lot. Follow the trail up towards the Comer lift top terminal. The trail is faint at times and not well-marked, but is generally easy to follow. The trail takes you to the top of the Ariel lift and then allows you to walk around the NEXRAD radar station (the big white ball) with a short scramble to the actual Mt Ashland Summit (at 7533′).

NOTE: If you descend via the road on the west side of Mt Ashland to FS Rd 20, the loop is ~3.8 miles.
